Post No. 25. The Panama Canal The Panama Canal has proven to be a demonstration of human ingenuity in challenging nature and achieving the dream of connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The Project was achieved through the extensive use of technology and efficient management and the work of hundreds of workers from many parts of the world, including the personnel who came to work from the West Indies .  Many years have passed since that May 6, 1904 when he was appointed the first Chief Engineer to start work, infrastructure and sanitation. More than 75,000 men and women worked n the Canal in total and after 32 years of intense work the Canal was officially opened on August 15, 1914 with an estimated 28,000 workers death and 5609 during the U.S. construction era due to illnesses and accidents. This high cost would have been much less with the current methods that include robots and digital technology but the human value, the tenacity and the perseverance to finish the pro

Post No. 24. Business Plans A Business plan is a simple official document that describes a business project. It’s importance is fundamental because it is a tool that demonstrate the body of business as the goals of the business, are factors involved that must prove not only profitability in the short, medium and long term but also strategic plans and administration. There are many factors involved as financial, management, resources, profitability and a credible market research among others. An ‘elevator pitch’ and a pitch deck are essential as part of the oral demonstration. This oral demonstration should be accompanied with graphics, projections, and plans in order to attract the attention of potential investors, clients or partners. An analogy corresponds to the preparation of a skyscraper, that is, from the bases, materials, Management, projections, technical designs, costs, human personnel and others. Has to be a short document and easy to read and easy to understand eve

Post No. 23: Building Skyscrapers Building tall skyscrapers has been an old obsession of engineers, architects and real estate developers between others. To achieve this dream, it is necessary to gather in harmony several main aspects such as materials, wind forces, use of the building, wind loads and to face the high construction costs. All of them, combined with an efficient high tall building management . We can not forget that errors of any kind can lead to disasters and many lives can be lost and insurance claims, compensations and legal costs due to damages may be astronomical. From the 1960s to the present the technology has changed a lot and now the digital solutions constitute a methodology that produces optimal results and that is being widely used but the risks due to nature continue. The design and construction of skyscrapers involves creating safe, habitable spaces in very high building. The buildings must support their weight, resist wind and earthquakes, and

Post No. 22. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. (MS. National Multiple Sclerosis Society) In multiple sclerosis (MS), damage to the myelin coating around the nerve fibers in the central nervous system (CNS) and to the nerve fibers themselves interferes with the transmission of nerve signals between the brain, spinal cord and the rest of the body. Disrupted nerve signals cause the symptoms of MS, which vary from one person to another and over time for any given individual, depending on where and when the damage occurs. The diagnosis of MS requires evidence of at least two areas of damage in the CNS, which have occurred at different times. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a demyelinating disease (any disease of the nervous system in which the myelin [fatty white substance that surrounds the axon {or ne

Post No.21. Parthenon Restoration Project Documentation about the secrets, reconstruction and restoration of the Parthenon are extensive but they are fundamentally important in this colossal task of repairing almost 2000 years of attempts to recover this work for humanity and prevent it from being lost. There have been many mistakes, looting but there is an effort to save this piece, which is already part of humanity and I believe that digital transformation has much to contribute. My purpose in this post is to summarize the efforts and find new ideas using the knowledge learned from both the errors and the achievements. It's a battle against time but we're going to win it. The Parthenon will continue to decorate Greece and the world. Its majestic structure inspires us to remember that Democracy and beauty can not disappear from our civilization because they must be united to preserve our freedom. In 1975, the Greek government began a concerted effort to restore the
