Post No. 45. My First Experience with ChatGPT

Chat GPT was released to the public as part of OpenAI’s API in June 2019. Without a doubt, it has taken the world by surprise and the number of users is growing by the minute. Since its release has been widely adopted by users of any field possible for a variety of reasons as well as text generation, question-answering, and research. At the present time has become one of the most widely used language models in the field.

To test the system, I asked him in which part of the Divine Comedy, whose author is Dante Alighieri, the author mentioned Viterbo in Italy.

The answer was: The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri is a 14th-century epic poem, not specifically associated with the Italian city of Viterbo. However, Dante mentions Viterbo in his Inferno (The first part of the Divine Comedy) as one of the cities in the region of Lazio, where he lived. In Canto XXI of Inferno, Dante speaks of Viterbo as being one of the cities where “evil speech is woven”.

According to The Divine Comedy :

" As hot springs bubble up at Bulicame, where sinners divide the water for their use, so did that stream cut through the desert sand. Both its embankments and its bed were stone, so I surmised we'd cross the desert here."( Canto Fourteen, 79-82)

The original in Italian is:

"Quale del bulicame esce ruscello che parton poi tra lor le peccatrici, tal per la rena giu sen give quello Lo fondo suo e ambo le pendici Fatt' era' n pietra, e' margini dallato."

Then I requested additional information from the system about Bullicame. The answer was:

" Bullicame is a hot spring located in the 7th Circle of Hell in Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" In the poem, it is described as a boiling and sulfurous swamp, where souls who lived a life of luxury and excess' are punished. The souls are depicted as boiling in the boiling water, representing their punishment for living a life of excessive indulgence."

In conclusion, Chat GPT is still learning and being updated by Open AI. The process is known as " fine-tuning". Also, Open AU is researching new techniques to improve the performance of the system and other language models by developing new algorithms for generating text and improving the accuracy and speed of the model.
